The Big 5-0!

Can you believe it? Herbein’s Garden Center is turning 50! What started as John Herbein’s vision of having a place where customers could come and find quality products with experienced service to match; has grown through hard work into arguably the finest garden center in the Valley. As a property caretaker, John was often frustrated in his inability to find those unique items with the quality he demanded. So, in 1974 John started his own business based on quality and service. From that first year to the present, Herbein’s has been known as the “place to go” to find quality in both the common and those exceptionally unique items.

While the quality is top notch for sure, it’s the high quality people that bring our old friends coming back year after year and that makes new friends almost every day. That quality of service and experience is what John required for the first 30+ years has continued since his retirement by current owner Thomas Bull. With well over 120 years of combined experience (and a couple with 30 years), Herbein’s friendly associates are always available to provide the advice and assistance our loyal customers require.

Anybody can sell you something, but it takes dedication, knowledge and experience to recommend the right thing – or nothing at all if that works best. This is “old school” at its finest.

So as Herbein’s Garden Center embarks on the “Next 50” keep a lookout for our season long anniversary specials and for our “Grand Celebration” slated for Saturday April 13th, 2024. We all look forward to sharing our 50th with you!
