October Glory Red Maple
Acer rubrum ‘October Glory’
‘October Glory’ is a female cultivar that, as its name suggests, is perhaps best noted for its showy bright fall color. Attractive red flowers break out in early spring before the foliage appears and give way to red-tinged samaras (helicopters) and shiny, glossy dark green leaves with red stems for the remainder of spring and summer. The orange to deep reddish purple fall foliage for this cultivar is the show-stopper. Plant the ‘October Glory’ Maple as a specimen or high profile tree for your lawn, street or park.
